Canon Unveils New Rebel Duo
Canon Unveils New Rebel Duo
A couple of upgraded Rebel cameras destined for first-time DSLR customers have been unveiled by Canon. Both devices, the EOS Rebel T3 and EOS Rebel T3i are mainly focusing on new owners of DSLRs. The Rebel T3i is one of the few cameras in its class provided with a swivelling LCD and inherits the three-inch display of the EOS 60D. it is the higher-end of the two new devices and is equipped with Canon’s most recent DIGIC 4 image processor as well as an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor. If shipped with lens, as a combo, owners can hope for an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II lens with zoom. The camera can also be found with body only in case the lens is not needed or users look for anything else. Wireless flash support is provided as well as 1,080-pixel video recording.
The Rebel T3 is available in standard configuration, with the same lens as the T3i and DIGIC 4 image processor. It offers an excellent 12.2-megapixel CMOS image sensor instead, good enough to allow 720-pixel video recording. The fixed view screen has 2.7 inches. A useful in-camera feature guide for newcomers is also present and allows getting the most of the new purchase.

Trio of new Canon models in IXUS range
Canon is going launch crazy at the moment, and it isn’t just DSLR models flying out; three new IXUS compacts have also gone live and official – the IXUS 310HS, the IXUS 220HS and the IXUS 115HS – with, as the name suggests, the new range all packing Canon’s HS system.
Starting with the daddy of the pack, the 310HS, this is a 12.1-megapixel camera (with DIGIC 4 image processing) that is also capable of shooting 1080p Full HD video with stereo sound.
It has a 24mm, ultra-wide angle, 4.4x optical zoom lens with a bright f/2.0 maximum aperture and it has a 4-stop optical image stabiliser that steadies the light passing through the lens elements.

The Phoblographer’s Olympus E-5 Field Review
Speculation has been abound on the interwebs about the death of the Four Thirds format of cameras and the embrace of the extremely popular Micro Four Thirds cameras. The Olympus E-5 is Olympus’s latest DSLR at the time of writing this posting, and it is perhaps one of the best DSLRs I’ve tested. This complete review of the Olympus E-5 is not only a compilation of the entire review that I’ve here on The Phoblographer, but will also include my experiences with it at the workplace. Finally, it is a desperate plea to Olympus to not kill the format, but instead find a different way to market it.
